Vienna Philharmonics and Elīna Garanča

Elīna Garanča has a warm and powerful voice, and she tempts audiences with her majestic pose and attractiveness. The artist is beloved by critics who praise her iconic interpretation of major mezzo roles and her outstanding recordings, as well as by audiences which offer her thoroughly delighted ovations at the world's prestigious opera houses, concert halls and festivals. The concert cycle that is being presented as part of Latvia's centenary, "Born in Latvia," will bring our diva to the Dzintari Concert Hall, where she will perform together with one of the great symbols of European classical music -- the legendary Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of the charismatic Venezuelan conductor Rafael Payare. The concluding concert in the Rīga Festival will feature one of the most distinguished opuses from the past century -- Hungarian composer Bela Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra, as well as by Viennese classicist Beethoven's dramatic third overture to Leonora, and distinguished Austrian symphony composer Gustav Mahler's late, romantic, aesthetic and wonderfully beautiful songs.

The concert is organized in cooperation with the fund "Baltic musical seasons".
