‘Early Music Festival’ provides an opportunity for a contemporary person to sample the feel of Renaissance, Medieval and Baroque periods through music. Festival concerts attract listeners to the ancient churches and halls of Old Riga. Climax of the festivities take place in the most magnificent Latvian castle, built in Baroque and Rococo styles during the 18th century. Each year various early music ensembles from Europe as well as Columbia, USA, Brazil and even New Zealand take part in the festival. Splendid costumes of olden days, early music instruments, authentic performances and fireworks will leave no one indifferent!
