Leaders of VSIA ‘Latvijas Koncerti’, Lithuanian Philharmonics, Klaipeda Concert Hall and Kaunas Philharmonics in a meeting, held in Vilnius on January 5th 2009, signed a cooperation agreement in joint management of concerts of Latvian and Lithuanian professional orchestras and choirs. A project of cooperation agreement was devised in a meeting of concert management organizations of the Baltic States in March 2008 with an aim to insure the development of culture connections between the corresponding countries.

In May this year pianist Vestards Šimkus will perform in Vilnius Festival; in December ‘Sinfonietta Rīga’ will embark on a concert tour to Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda. In 2010 Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra will perform in Riga.

‘Latvijas Koncerti’ in the second half of January plans to sign a cooperation agreement with ‘Eesti Kontsert’ concerning joint management of concerts of Latvian and Estonian professional orchestras and choirs.
