‘Sinfonietta Rīga’ is a new beginning, promising high quality. Its progress is evident daily despite the fact that similar views on principles and style of orchestra performances are never developed easily. Today an intelligent and understanding performer, not a ‘simple musician’, is the greatest value. Step by step we connect artistically and research styles. It is not simple to create an orchestra, all members have to adjust to each other, however the musicians of ‘Sinfonietta Rīga’ have the will to perform and that is the most important thing. Youth is wonderful, it compensates for many things. Perhaps it is not yet on the highest professional level, but young musicians hold their own ideas dear – there is a desire and there’s no routine. The energy of young people has a unique effect. I feel much younger, I have a great interest in my work and a wish to do something good, to urge them not to repeat the mistakes I have made – the feeling is fantastic.
