MOZART AND BACH'S SONS

This is already the third meeting between Sinfonietta Rīga and the world-renowned master of historical keyboard instruments, Kristian Bezuidenhout, who is equally at ease at the fortepiano, harpsichord and modern piano. Since 2017 the artistic director of Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Bezuidenhout is the residing artist of Bachfest Leipzig 2019, while continuing to perform together with many revered experts of early music, including John Eliot Gardiner, Philippe Herreweghe and Trevor Pinnock. For the concert in Riga Bezuidenhout has put together a programme that clearly reflects his artistic interests: his favourite composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25, and three works of prodigious J.S. Bach's sons that bring the air of the era of Sturm und Drang.
