“CARNIVAL OF VENICE” AND HAYDN'S TRUMPET CONCERTO

Located on the banks of Danube, the magnificent city of Vienna has cultivated a particularly close relationship with music for centuries. Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert and Arnold Schoenberg, whose masterpieces are included in this programme, are just a few of the most acclaimed men who have electrified the musical scene of Vienna. The solo for Haydn's Trumpet Concerto will be performed by the great Romain Leleu. The French soloist, who at the age of 26 was recognized by the prestigious Victoires de la Musique awards as the "Instrumental soloist revelation", keeps mesmerizing the audiences with his amazing virtuosity and unbelievably silky timbre of his trumpet, which seems to be singing in his hands. Jean-Baptiste Arban's whimsical variations on the popular Italian folk tune, 'Carnival of Venice', will be another testimony to Leleu's mastery of the instrument.
